EMBRACE is a video series that explores deep ties of Nova Scotia and focuses on community led-businesses. We show people and products behind local brands that make up the character and feel of the province. The purpose of EMBRACE is to create a strong sense of community by showcasing how Nova Scotians are addressing global issues LOCALLY, through their businesses. The intent is to drive economic growth and development, target regional tourism, retain youth migration, highlight cultural diversity and immigration, converse about food security and educational opportunities. EMBRACE’s community collaborators include the Planning & Design Centre and My East Coast Experience.

2020 - present

Throughout COVID-19, businesses came to a halt and the local community was greatly affected. Nova Scotia's context spars from the high density of Downtown Halifax, to the outskirts of Wolfville and neighbouring rural lands. Surviving businesses highly relied on digital communication to survive and create an online reach.

Together with my work partner, Joyce Liu, we decided to embrace business owners and create a platform that serves for community connectedness.

In addition to my expertise as a community designer, my role included project managing multiple projects for the video series. From, reaching out to businesses, organizing shoot-days, scriptwriting and video editing, I curated all the professional writings for the series' launch, press-kits, bio-descriptions, social media posts and any related proposal writing.
